Wastewater treatment facility at the Danyang zero-carbon titanium alloy base by WTEYA

WTEYA has completed the wastewater treatment facility serving the Danyang zero-carbon titanium alloy base in Jiangsu Province, China. The project was delivered for Soleman Zero Carbon Technology (Danyang) Co., Ltd. and executed jointly with Guangdong Zhonggong Bilian Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.

📋 Project at a Glance

The facility treats three production streams from titanium alloy manufacturing: pickling wastewater at about 1.5 m³/d, scrubber tower water at about 5 m³/d, and degreasing plus emulsion rinse water at about 20 m³/d. Treated water is discharged to the downstream municipal plant, Danyang Shicheng Wastewater Treatment Co., Ltd., within its acceptance standards.

🤝 How the Project Was Delivered

The two contractors divided the work along their respective strengths. Equipment was fabricated as integrated skid-mounted packages: a demulsification and air flotation unit, a Fenton reaction with coagulation and sedimentation unit, and a biological treatment unit. Pre-assembly in the workshop shortened site construction, which matters on a brownfield site where production continues in parallel.

Commissioned systems include the dosing room, sludge dewatering room, biological treatment tanks, the Fenton reaction and coagulation unit, the demulsification flotation unit and the final discharge tank.

⚙️ Technical Highlights

Pickling and scrubber water share a neutralisation line designed for 6.5 m³/d. The oily degreasing and emulsion stream runs separately at 20 m³/d, because emulsified oil will not separate by gravity and would interfere with both oxidation and biological treatment if mixed in.

On the oily line, demulsification and air flotation remove the oil first, Fenton oxidation then breaks down recalcitrant organics and reduces COD, and biological treatment polishes the water so that total nitrogen and total phosphorus meet the receiving plant's limits.

📈 Why It Matters for the Client

Titanium alloy production cannot pause while wastewater is dealt with. By giving each stream the pre-treatment it needs and keeping the biology protected, the plant holds discharge quality steady through production changes instead of pushing the problem downstream.

For the client, the outcome is straightforward: compliant transfer of treated water to the municipal plant, with no penalty risk and no interruption to production.
